So this is what we know…It’s hard from foods alone to get enough vitamin D, here are some facts:
- We need 600 IU a day of Vitamin D
- We need Vitamin D to absorb calcium and promote bone growth
- Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to so many diseases
- Vitamin D is so important, that your body makes it by itself after your skin is exposed to sunlight
SO… we get some from the sun and some from foods… but we really need to take a good Vitamin D supplement to support it.
It’s so important to wear sunscreen daily… and reapply when you’re in super hot weather or getting lots of exposure.
